This isn't how I'd planned it.

My initial intent was for this to be a blog for the week I did the Eat Local challenge. I got busy living so it will instead become a food diary. How ono (delicious in Hawai'ian) to plan by not planning.

---------------

While giving my spirit a workout an idea was introduced: "Keep your fork." Let me sum up - After an amazing meal by mama she says, "Keep your fork." Because she says this we know something sweet and substantial is up for dessert and since we know the cook (mama) we are excited even before we taste it, before we even see it.

Let's derive: Life's got something delicious and nutritious in store, we just have to be ready with our forks.

In honor of this I'm having a "keep your fork" party and making banana french toast with kawai (ku-why-eeee: your new word of the day is Japanese for cute) and local apple bananas and Bale "baked in Hawai'i" Brown Rice Bread. Keep your forks, people! and life will give you sweet and succulent ;)
